A Quick Summary of ObamaCare

Quote taken from Bill Anderson in his column on LewRockwell.com today:

"Indeed, a state-run system will mean that politically-connected people will be first in line, while others will have to wait. That is the way it always has been in socialist medical care, and that is what will continue to be the situation."

Yep, that pretty well covers it.

Those Constantly Spoken Of Forty Million

There are forty million Americans, we're told over and over, who are without health insurance coverage. Okay. But some questions arise in my mind.

The implication is that they all (or the parents of all the children included in the number) desperately want it, but are unable to afford it. But how many of these could afford it choose not to? Many young healthy people opt out, I'm told. No doubt a lot of others make a different choice, desperately wanting somthing else even more.

Are these really all Americans? I doubt it. After all this forty million is a political number, bandied about by politicians who desperately want something. My guess is that it includes estimates for aliens, resident and otherwise. I also doubt that the estimated twelve to twenty million illegal aliens care much one way or the other as their medicam care is free (to them, at least) antway.

How many Americans are there these days? A little over three hundred million? I think that's what it is. So, over two hundred sixty million do have coverage, about eighty-seven percent. And one guy, one party wants to scrap all that because of the other thirteen percent? No, I know you don't believe that. It's politics! As usual. It's about power-- and money. There's a big payoff somewhere and America is about to be screwed yet again.

Who Was It That Really Acted "Stupidly" Anyway?

Probably, it seems to me, the guy who wasn't even there, but the one who ran his mouth anyway.

Truly a Notable Accomplishment

Obama wraps up his first six months in a couple of days. What of note will he have accomplished? Well, I had thought that nobody could ever be worse than George W. Bush, but Obama may well have already proven me wrong. And that's some doing is just six months.

IF YOU THINK HEALTH CARE IS EXPENSIVE NOW, JUST WAIT UNTIL IT'S FREE

Ain't it so.

This was a sign I caught on the web displayed at one of those Tea Parties on the Fourth. Those protests held around the country featuring many thousands of people which this time were totally ignored by the media. In April they covered them, ridiculing and belittling at every turn, but here in July they ignored.

Show's whose side they're on. As if we didn't know.
