Delayed, but Kudos to Myself
Last June,near the beginning of the 2006 hurricane season, I wrote an entry for this blog, based on an old National Geographic article I'd seen, predicting that a cycle was ending and that, in spite of the experts' forecasts, there would be significantly fewer hurricanes during the current hurricane season. I wrote:"Although there have been estimates of numerous named storms this season, equal to or even more than last year, I have been saying that there will be fewer. I believe that this cycle topped out last year and will not approach that number again for a number of years."
And I finished it with:
"Anyway, I'm now on record that the cycle is changing. Come December if we've had a much calmer hurricane season than 2005, doubtless I'll mention that fact on the blog. However, if not, I promose to 'fess up to that as well. Unless, of course, I've been washed or blown away."
While I was without a computer for much of November and December and forgot about it after I got a new one, I'll now take that belated bow.
