Have We No Shame?

Today the American embassy in Belgrade is aflame. Am I outraged? Of course I am. Why are we even there? Why, of all places, do we have an ambassor is Serbia? This seems to me to be hypocrisy to a high degree. The U.S. government remains very much anti-Serb. Our air force bombed the hell out of them during the Clinton administration. And I feel no doubt that we'd do the same any time we sense a provocation. Now we have been encouraging the secession of the province of Kosovo. Have we no shame. Since we're so against Serbia, let's at least have the decency to close the diplomatic offices and leave their country.

And the Serbian government must be pretty much made up of dummies itself to have not demanded that we leave long ago.

Super Tuesday

A guy who calls himself Les Visible, in his blog Smoking Mirrors, had this take on Super Tuesday. I think he pretty well nailed it.

"Amidst the clamor of war and economic ruin, amidst the squalor of appetite and entertainment; within the kaleidoscope of torture and genocide bought with their dollars and committed by way of their indifference, the American people went to the polls and voted for the candidate whose lies sounded the most like what they could live with along the course of ‘business as usual’."
