Yom Teruah

That's today. Yom Teruah, Day of Trumpets or Day of Shouting. In the King James Version teruah is translated as "trumpets" and as "great shout." A feast day, it's often called the Feast of Trumpets. I don't have a shofar or even a trumpet of any kind to blow. For that matter I haven't done any shouting today either. But I have certainly been enjoying the day. This day is prophetic, I believe, looks forward, picturing the return of our lord Jesus Christ, whose appearing is accompanied "with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God."

I've never been accepting of the term Rosh Hashanah for this day. In Hebrew that translates as "head of the year" and is considered as the beginning of a new year by those who use the term. But, sorry, I can't buy that. Throughout the Bible this month is referred to as the seventh month. Years just don't begin six months into themselves.

I'm glad you published this. Nobody, maybe hardly anybody does.
